The Multitasking Mom

We're Growing

On Tuesday I shared some big news on my Facebook page.  On Wednesday, I shared the same news with my email subscribers. If you didn't catch me on those two mediums, don't worry.  Today I'm sharing my big news with you!

In May of 2018, Hailey is going to become a big sister and Tyler is going to be a big brother again! That's right, baby #3 is on the way. We couldn't be more excited and maybe a little nervous.  Can you say #outnumbered!

We've know for a few weeks now, but we just had the confirmation ultrasound this Tuesday. Even without the ultrasound, there was no denying it.  The exhaustion and morning sickness is real. I didn't have any real morning sickness with my first two pregnancies, so this caught me a bit off guard.

I'm not necessarily throwing up, but waves of nausea come all day long especially if I either eat too much or too little. I feel like Goldilocks.

How We Told The Kids

So telling the kids was fun. Actually, telling Tyler was fun. Hailey is 1 and still blissfully unaware of the changes that will be coming to her family.

As far as Tyler, last week I had an appointment with my OB. I told Tyler I had a checkup which was actually true since it was my annual appointment.  I informed the OB of the positive pregnancy test so he had the blood test done.

The next day the blood test came back positive so I had schedule the ultrasound for this week.  I told Tyler I was going to have another appointment this week.  He asked what for since I just had one.  I told him the doctor was going to take a picture of my belly.

His eyes got big. "To see if there is a baby inside?" I said yes. He seemed excited, so I asked if he wanted there to be a baby inside.  He said yes, to play with Hailey.  Then he asked when the baby was going to be big like him.  So I asked him how old he is. He said 4 years old. So I said, "It'll probably take about 4 years then."

Tyler was very excited to see the ultrasound pictures on Tuesday.  He is convinced that the baby is a boy and has taken to calling it Baby Superman.  I don't think we'll be keeping that name regardless of gender....

The Rest of the Family

We had told the rest of the family over the past week one by one as we saw them. We just slipped the news into regular conversation and then just waited for the reaction.  It was actually a lot of fun. Things like "I hope your going to make a lot of food for Thanksgiving because Emily will be eating for 2."

So we are due May 2018, just 5 days past Hailey's Birthday. I am hoping that this will be my first on time/early baby. Just not on Hailey's birthday if possible. Judging from Hailey's personality, I think she will want to keep her own special day. This means our family will have 2 May birthdays, 2 February Birthdays, and my one April Birthday.

All in all, we are so super excited for this little peanut to join our family. Until then, I am looking forward to the energy burst of second trimester!!

Cheers,

Emily
